Annie’s Flats is a mixed-use construction consisting of studio and one-bedroom multifamily residential housing, retail space, and covered parking. The building’s design was influenced by the historic Montgomery Ward building, which is located just north on 4th Avenue and has since been remodeled into artist studios. Incorporated along the façade at ground level is artist Mari Gardner’s stained and fused glass mosaic, Weaving Tides. Also by the artist, a sculptural wing of steel, stained glass, and fused glass is suspended at the building’s most prominent corner above the intersection.
