Based on earlier TAS work on the Kitsap County Courthouse from 2012 through 2016, TAS entered into contract with Kitsap County in early 2018 for a six-month Space Needs & Feasibility Assessment for the existing Courthouse building in Port Orchard. The scope of work included an assessment of 159,000 SF of existing buildings and current staffing a projected space needs summary for growth and expansion projected 15 years and 30 years into the future. Four alternative concepts were studied and ultimately a fifth hybrid-concept was developed to address a preferred solution that provides for a new courthouse facility on the current site. In late 2018, additional master planning was completed to graphically depict future County expansion over a six-block area (referred to as the County Super Block).
