PARTHIA CANOPY
TAS has been working with Chuck Fowler and the South Sound Maritime Heritage Association since 2018 on this widespread community effort. The historic Parthia tugboat worked Olympia's waterfront during its heyday, and raced in Harbor Days for years afterwards. Eventually sold to a private owner, the tug sunk to the bottom of Hood Canal in 2017. SSMHA acted fast in order to refloat, salvage, and haul out the tug, which was eventually returned to Olympia to undergo restoration work at Swantown Boatworks. TAS has designed and permitted a display location, protective canopy, and supportive cradle for the restored tug.
