The Lurana, located on Olympia’s beautiful waterfront, consists of 44 residential apartments and ground floor retail including a restaurant, a confectionery, office space, and a large waterfront plaza for outdoor dining and entertainment. Due to the building's waterfront location, zoning heights and setbacks required a creative approach to ensure the development met the owner’s and community’s requirements. Additional considerations for an existing municipal pump station required close work with the City of Olympia planning and facilities departments and TAS's design consultants to ensure pedestrian circulation and safety while providing an attractive and unobtrusive solution. Public art, openness, and water-dependent uses helped to ensure a successful project for the community and tenants.
